There is no doubt in my mind that I
am a small town gal. I dislike being confined by buildings or stuck in a maze
of a million people. I prefer a field full of daisies, a close-knit community and a
slower lifestyle. Though a big metropolitan city is far from my hearts desire,
an adventure is not. I want to feel and see the affects of the wind rustling
through a massive forest. I want to backpack up a mountain and bask in Gods
wilderness and wonder. I want to see a clear water beach and be mesmerized by
it. I want to journey through small farm towns, quant tourist towns and be in
the middle of nowhere for miles. So, I guess it is safe to say: I have dreams
bigger than this little town.

Is there anything
wrong with dreaming? Absolutely not! I think the best kinds of dream are those
that appear unreachable. Those that are described as impossible, but when they
are achieved it reminds us that we serve a God who makes the impossible,
possible. “Jesus looked at them and
said, ‘with man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible,”
Matthew 19:26 NIV.
As a nearly graduated college kid
money is not amply available. There is always enough to get by and live
comfortably, but a traveling extravaganza is not in the bank account. So for
me, my traveling extravaganza is my impossible dream. Simply because earthly
factor make it seem so difficult. Yes, I want to take it in stages, but these
days everything is too expensive even for that. I believe my impossible dream
will one day be cascaded in front of me—complete, because God listens to little
cries of His children’s hearts. He listens to your heart. He wants our hearts
completely every little dream, worry, love or cry, He wants it all. He loves
us, but even better He likes us.
What discounts you from believing
in your impossible dreams? Is it worth, unbelief, pride or something else? In
Proverbs 3:26, Christ assures us that He will be our confidence and our worth,
thus you are worthy! Unbelief and a tug of doubt is a hard battle to conquer.
On the days it is getting the best of you, try declaring to the Lord “I
believe, but help my unbelief.” Every believer young and old has gone through
numerous times of unbelief; you are not alone. We are a community; we journey
together. Pride? Where pride is evident, humility is the medicine. Pride is
mans biggest downfall, thus it is also extremely difficult to overcome.
Thankfully, God listens to the song of the heart. If we are giving our best efforts
to overcome our downfall, He acknowledges it.
Your impossible dreams can
true! You never know, they might be hiding around the corner waiting for you to
unlock their lavishness. You are never too old to be young. Your dreams maybe
hidden, but a game of hide-n-seek never fails to bring out laughter and joy.
Where there is joy, there is the Kingdom. Happiness is of this earth, but joy
is eternal. Where there is eternity in the Kingdom, there is Jesus. Jesus is the key to seeing the impossible become possible.
I yearn for
marriage and family, but those are nestled in Gods embrace waiting for the
perfect day to be birthed. Yet, those are not impossible dreams in my world. I
am ultimately satisfied in the adventure leading up to those glorious,
life-alter and best days of my life events. My heart is ready for their occurrence,
but it is not rushed. My heart is thrilled to live every present second, hour
and day to the utmost. I have one life. I do not want to waste it in constant
ponder of the future. I did that for far too many years and today, I am living
today and not tomorrow.
Living the present helps me harness
every sunrise and sunset. I see beauty in every creature large and small. There
is purpose and meaning in every friend and friendship. Worrying about tomorrow
is simply emptying today of its beauty. I love beauty, so I live today. Which
day do you choose?
Choose today and dream impossibly!
